This application generates a random medieval city layout of a requested size. The generation method is rather arbitrary, the goal is to produce a nice looking map, not an accurate model of a city.
Maybe in the future I'll use its code as a basis for some game or maybe not. Click one of the buttons to create a new city map of a desired size. Hover the mouse pointer over a building to see the type of the ward it belongs to. Other keyboard shortcuts:.Onn tablet reset
The first version of this generator was created for the monthly challenge 17 of the proceduralgeneration subreddit. This generator is also available at fantasycities. Toy Town is a 3d-visualizer for this generator.
One day it may become a separate native application or a part of the generator, or both. You can use maps created by the generator as you like: copy, modify, include in your commercial rpg adventures etc. Attribution is appreciated, but not required. View all posts. Ideas for added uses. The abrupt resolution change cannot be good for your computer. Probably just speeds up the generatio a little, why bother? I liked it because it worked but I didn't like the temporary resolution change and it is probably confusing if like me, you don't always read the 'Read Me' file first.
To make it work you have to use the f letter key on your keyboard [between D and G] with the down arrow and spacebar keys to perform the function of regenerating a city map and making a copy of that map in the software folder. That was fine however, the bitmap created had to be converted to a jpeg and imported into Bryce 5. To do that you click the mountain icon, [3rd top left], then E for edit, then in editing tools click picture, then load, then navigate to and import the city map, copy and paste imported map from 1st to 2nd window, click apply and and your map should appear in the centre screen and your city in the preview on the right.
Click the tick on bottom right of your screen to import into your original terrain. You can then render the image, then click edit at the top of your bryce screen and then the little arrow at the side to bring down the materials pallette to add texture of some sort to your selected city. All this is not very obvious to anyone who downloads this software expecting a city to unfold before them. Perhaps that is the most annoying thing about it. To start off, every time this program starts, it changes the screen resolution to something like x In fact, it is so small, the screenshot you see when you click the "View Larger" button at the top of this page is actual size!
After it accually runs, it's useless! All it does is fill the small screen with circles and squares. Read reply 1. You can size without pixelating. You can save any variation while working the software. The people moaning below didn't read the description properly.
It says that it generates files to import into Bryce, and it does. It changes your screen resolution but that takes seconds to change back so not really a problem. It does exactly what it says. The randomized circles and squares can be imported into Bryce terrains, which create realistic cityscapes when rendered. When I started it in was in a really weird resoulution which I could deal with but then I realized there was no program it was just a ton of multicolored blocks!!!!????

From Ben Tibbetts: This program randomly generates maps that, upon being imported into Bryce, produce realistic cityscapes. To create your own cities simply run the program, capture a screenshot of the randomly-created map that pops up, and import the file of that screenshot into a Bryce terrain, and voila.
Within seconds, you will have created your own complex urban environment without having to design and model a single building.

Netgen is open source based on the LGPL license. It uses Branch and Bound method for solving. An input is a number of cities and a matrix of city -to- city travel prices. The matrix can be populated with random values in a given range useful for generating tasks. The result is an optimal route, its price, step-by-step matrices of solving and solving graph.
The task can be saved in internal binary format and opened later. The result can be printed or saved as PDF A powerfull tool to modelise and create games.

Scripting language allows you to code interactions in pseudo-C with the animation and synthetize your own rendering with own-made shaders. Procedural Tree Generator PTree is an application that generates tree models based on various input parameters. This project offers a python binding to the libindi library. You may generate a PyIndi module which mainly defines an IndiClient class. Besides Python Java Games and Graphics is meant to be a fun project.
There is no specific goal as to what kind of graphics or games. Aleph One is a highly sophisticated program for generating fractals.
Some major features are: A built-in expression generatorbit colouring schemes for the fractals, multi-threaded and multi-server rendering! And lots, lots more SH-Engine - crossplatform multithreaded object-oriented render and audio engine. Based on OpenGL 3. Support for Windows and Linux. Contains 2D-graphics, 3D -scene and sound.Generate large road networks and mass-place tens of thousands of buildings. Mix both procedural and hand-made assets.

Read the manual and see what's new. Traditionally it must be constructed by hand in a 3d application by an artist. While this approach gives the artist full control, it requires skill and a LOT of time to complete an entire city.
Don't even mention if later you want to change its layout. One can use tricks, shortcuts, and other Blender features such as particles, or random mesh extrusions to accelerate the work, it remains tedious nonetheless.
And the results aren't always as great as our vision. Simply because there is a lot to do, and Blender is 'only' a generic 3d application, not a specialized city builder. Plug pieces of functionality together to reach your desired goals. You describe your cities conceptually with nodes within graphs, and those can be as small or as large as you want. Some nodes place buildings, others create road networks, and others generate procedural facade textures. More will be added giving you even more possibilities with every new version.
Time is precious. You cannot place each and every piece of a city by hand, there are hundreds of them, if not thousands. Instead let SceneCity do the boring work for you like instancing and positioning objectswhile you keep the fun creative part like modeling and animating. Describe the city you want in SceneCity using parameters, such as city size, what buildings to use, where to place them etc Changing something is as easy as changing a parameter value, then recreating the city. Thanks to Blender, and depending on which instantiation method you choose, you can even modify a city without recreating it.
Modifying the model of a building automatically changes all instances of that building everywhere it appears in the city. SceneCity comes batteries included: props, roads and buildings. Load them in a click, and generate a city. How to bypass thermocouple on mr heater
It's that simple. Once included in your scene, they're just standard Blender meshes, objects and materials, so you can study them, modify them, or delete them. Turn a few road portions into large networks easily. Creating huge networks becomes virtually free, both time-wise and effort-wise. Repeat your own road portion s meshe s along curves.Fantastic City Generator (FCG) - Tutorial
This type of roads gives nice curves and very complex-looking, intricate networks. However it does not test for intersections and collisions with other roads and buildings, and does not support crossings. Assemble straight portions, T-crossing portions and X-crossing portions together on a grid like the pieces of a giant brick game.
This type of network is precise and will not overlap with other roads and buildings. However curved roads are not supported, though you can model your portions to be curved to a certain point. Place the buildings randomly. Vary their size, and their density according to maps that can be procedural or image-based.
Easy, fast, and looks very intricate and complex from far away. The buildings will overlap. You can put them on your terrains. The buildings are placed precisely on a grid like the pieces of a giant brick game.Try for 30 days free of charge.

Originally created as a simple tool for a WIP Game Project, CityScaper was designed to create varied city backgrounds for level to level sidescrolling city gameplay.
It's since been improved to be capable of much more, and we're sharing it with the Unity Asset Store to help us fund our current game project, and begin releasing new assets, some of which seamlessly integrate into CityScaper. Rather than rendering geometry for you, CityScaper takes meshes you create, and assembles them in city formations. The generation system is based on a 5-point concatenation, similar to a smooth voxel engine.
You have direct control over the look and purpose of the city. This can currently all be done through the Inspector after attaching the script. View the sample video and check out the Asset Store for a short tutorial on using the script. Features: - Works with Procedural Materials from Substance Designer 4 - Exposes the powerful libnoise engine - Can be rendered with or without colliders - Buildings can be built within 3 sizes - Uses density values to give you control over where buildings are placed - Can generate any type of heightmap terrain Intended Uses: - Generate cities for background or interactive purposes - Generate and save cities for further detailed editing - Generate cities during load times through scripting for procedural levels Creative Possibilities: - Generate procedural caves, dungeons and mazes.
